La Guardia Airport (LGA) is primarily responsible for flights within the United States but also serves the greater New York area internationally. Located in the Borough of Queens, New York City, bordering on Flushing Bay and Bowery Bay, LGA is eight miles (13 km) from midtown Manhattan and the journey by taxi is likely to cost around 25 USD. Carey Transportation also operates bus services from La Guardia Airport every 30 minutes, between 06:45 and midnight.
LaGuardia has four main terminal buildings. Terminals A, B, C and D are located in the Central Terminal Building (CTB). The US Airways Terminal and US Airways Shuttle are in the same building. Delta Shuttle is located by the Marine Air Terminal. The Delta Terminal is separate from the others and is located next to the US Airways Terminal.
There is a wide range of retail outlets and restaurants throughout LaGuardia Airport. The Central Terminal Building provides an array of choices when it comes to shopping or dining at LaGuardia and boasts the largest selection of all the terminals. The US Airways Terminal comes a close second to the CTB with stores such as Benjamin Books, Coffee Beanery, Tie Rack, Bodyography and Sunglass Hut. The other terminals also provide a slightly smaller selection of cafes, gift shops and newsstands. However, free Inter-Terminal Connection Buses are available roughly every 15 minutes for a large part of the day for those interested in seeing what the whole airport has to offer.
LaGuardia is served by five major car-rental firms. Connected to all of the airport terminals by frequent free shuttle buses, the car-rental companies have pick-up areas in each terminal. Each of these companies provide either a car-rental booth or courtesy car-rental telephone, which can be found in all arrivals areas.
LaGuardia offers daily parking near all terminals, and long-term, reduced-rate parking near the Central Terminal Building for vehicles staying longer than 24 hours. Disabled-passenger parking is offered in each lot. Metered parking is located in lot 6 at the Marine Air Terminal. Signs to LaGuardia parking facilities have been colour coded in order to show their proximity to each terminal. US Airways is red, Delta is Orange, Delta shuttle is blue and the Central Terminal Building is green.
